This question comes up lots in nerd circles (oh what a thought) and people love to spend hours debating it. I personally think that arguing about this is about as useful as arguing the existence of God.  If you have to do it you just don’t get it…..

Without an understanding of the science your art won’t perform as well as you would like. Without an artistic vision your science will be dull, won’t ‘feel’ right and will be the same as everyone else’s.
